Valentines Meal with Aldi

I have recently been asked by the lovely people at Aldi to create a recipe using Aldi only items for Valentines day and so I headed off to my local Aldi to see what I could buy and come up with a yummy meal that would be perfect for Valentines at home this year.

I chose to do a Garlic and herb chicken with potato dauphinoise and some yummy and healthy vegetables. All items were purchased from Aldi including the garlic, tarragon, potatoes , double cream and cheese which I forgot to photograph (oops).

You will need for the chicken:

2 skinned chicken breasts
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp tarragon
Salt & pepper

For the Potato Dauphinoise:
500g potatoes (thinly sliced)
250ml double cream

100g grated chedder cheese

Method:
1. Cut up your choice of vegetables and pop them into a steamer for 25 mins
2. Slice up the potatoes and parboil for 15 minutes

3. while the potatoes are parboiling:
- Preheat oven to 190°C
- Crush the garlic and then add tarragon and salt and pepper
-Rub all ingredients onto the chicken
 - Pop in the oven for 25-30 minutes

4.. Mix cheese and cream together
5. layer the potatoes into an oven proof dish adding the cream/cheese mixture between each layer. Bake for 25 mins

6. Serve and enjoy.

I also chose to make a vegetable soup for starter:

All you need is the Vegetable soup mix from Aldi, water and a vegetable stock cube.

The dessert was also easy to do too all that was needed was:

A pack of 4 apples
Crumble mix
Optional: Sugar/Sweetener to taste.

Method:
1. Peel and slice the apples
2. Put into a oven proof dish top with the crumble mix and sweetener/sugar
3. Pop in the oven for 25 minuites a 190°C.

Will you be having a Valentines meal at home this year?

*In collaboration with Aldi
I was gifted a voucher for the purpose of this post.

September Aldi Baby and Toddler Event

Thursday 22nd of September is the start of Aldi's baby and toddler event. I love this event as you can always get some fab bargains for your little one from toys to nappies.

Since having Blake I have always checked out the event and managed to get things such as washing powder in bulk and they also sell Bambino Miosolo cloth nappies in prints that are only sold in Aldi and are limited stock.

When Aldi said they would send me a few bits one of the items one I chose was this pale blue fitted sheet. Blake was in the need of an extra fitted sheet for his cot bed and Aldi always do well for things like this in the event. I really love the pale blue which will match his room perfectly.

The other item is a new bath toy by Nuby. Blake loves having a bath and was in the need of some new bath toys to keep him more entertained. You fill up the stack with water at the top and you can see all the bits inside spin around and the bit at the bottom sprinkles all the water out.

Do you love the Aldi baby and toddler event? Will you be checking the event out on Thursday?

Summer Garden Products

The long summer days are here at last and Aldi can help you to make the most out of your garden
with the special buys summer range.

Aldi's Summer Garden Special Buys are on sale from 18th June and available whilst stocks last.

Aldi have a whole range of items in store from big items such as the stylish Rattan Garden Furniture Sets  to small items such as this bronze outdoor wall clock.

The wall clock comes in two colors Bronze and Cream.
I have found with the clock that the position of the battery pack makes it more harder to hang.
But also as the hands of clock are quiet dark it's quiet tricky to be able to see the time.

Aldi sent me a wide range of items from the Summer Garden Special Buys.
Since we live in a flat I have passed these on to my Mother in law.
One of the items which I think would look fab in your garden or on
your balcony (if you have one) is the Outdoor lantern.
If we were ever to get our own place with a garden
I would love to own a garden lantern.
I am a huge fan of candles so love the idea of being able to have candles outside in the garden safely.

Will you be popping into Aldi to have a look at the Summer Garden Special Buys?

Review: Aldi Halloween Special Buys

October is here and soon Halloween will be here.
For many people buying a costume can be a bit of a chore
especially  if you have little ones.

I've not actually dressed for Halloween for quite a few years now.
But me and the hubby like to spend Halloween eating a takeaway and
watching horror movies.

But this year I want to have a little fun with Halloween and wear this
witches hat to get  me into the spirit of Halloween.

The witches hat retails at £1.99 and I love the silver
web pattern on this hat.
When I dressed up for Halloween as a child I was always a witch.
My mum would dress me and my sister up in the following:

-a little witches hat that had some funky coloured hair inside

-a witches mask which to be fair was rather uncomfortable

-Black bin bags to make a dress and cloak to go over our clothes

- A broom stick

and
- One year we even had a little cauldron and some witches fingers.

Aldi also sent me some glow sticks that will be fun to use while sat
in the dark watching the films this year. £1.99 .

The great thing about these glow sticks is that they are suitable for both
children and adults.

Last of all I was sent this lovely vampire costume, £7.99.
unfortunately the size they sent me doesn't fit.
However it does look rather pretty with the black and the red.
I think I would make a great kick ass vampire in this outfit.

Aldi also sell a range of costume's for children at £3.99 each
and are ideal for your little monsters to be able to dress up in!

The costumes are bold, bright and full of detail so will make you stand out this Halloween!

So if your going to be dressing up this year, than I would check out Aldi for
fab detailed costumes and accessories.

They are sure to run out quick so if I was you I'd dash to your nearest store asap.
All of Aldi's Halloween special buys will be on sale from tomorrow (October 3rd 2013)

An Aldi Surprise

Some of you may remember back in December I did a review on some products from
Well on Friday I was waiting in from a parcel from another company
when the postman arrived.
The package was rather large and I wasn't expecting anything else
so was a little confused, anyway I opened
it up to see this box.

I then was very excited to see what was in side so opened it up
to find a letter from Aldi and a product info guide.
The letter said they had sent me a some of there lovely products
as a Thank You for my Christmas review.

On tearing back some red tissue paper I reviled the contents.

As you can see I got four lovely goodies from them.

Moser Roth Chocolate, £1.09
This chocolate is sold all year round at Alid
and comes in 5 different  flavours in total.
Chilli, Mint, Orange, Milk and Caramel.
I was sent the delicious Caramel one to enjoy.

As you can see from the photo below they are small little bars
and they come in a pack of 5.
Which is more healthy for my waistline since I wont be tempted to
stuff my mouth silly of it.

Valentines Ladies Bracelet, £3.99.

This bracelet is an ideal gift for any women who loves a bit of sparkle.
Like most women I can tell you receiving a lovely piece of jewellery
certainly puts a smile on my face.
I love the  heart lock clasp and the pale pink
design with a pretty sparkly heart detail.
This is perfect if you don't want to spend much but want
to treat you loved one this valentines day with a nice piece of bling.
This lovely bracelet is currently on sale only while stocks last so be quick.

Now I was also sent two products that are not in Aldi stores
until 24th Feb and are a special buy item and only
sold until stocks last.

First of all this lovely
Ladies Real Leather Purse, £4.99
They come in a range of styles and you can choose
from Black, Tan or Brown.

I love that these are a great size so will fit all my cards in
as well as my notes and coins.
The purse also has a magnetic clip so is easy to close
and a zip section for keeping your coins in.

Last of all is this gorgeous
Ladies Ruffle Scarf, £3.99.
They are available in three colours
red, black and grey.
They are so warm and are stylish too.

All you have to do now is make sure you head to your local store asap once the products
are out as I am sure they are to get snapped up pretty fast.

Aldi's Home, Bedroom and Bathroom range

Autumn is here!
Thanks to Aldi you can now bring  a dash of autumn excitement into your home.

Aldi's home, bedroom and bathroom special buys will arrive in store on the 4th and 8th of October so some items should already be in store, whilst others will be available from Thursday.

The bathroom range consists of a family toilet seat at £19.99
and other little bits such as towels starting at £2.99 in a range of colors  and bath mats and towel warmers too.

For the bedroom there are a range of duvets, duvet sets, heated throws, twig lights
and photo print cushions. The one I have seen is a gorgeous stag one which my sister will
love since she adores stags.

For the home you will be able purchase large items such as dehumidifier's, flame effect heater, air beds, shoe tidy and smaller items such as cushions, LED Bulb candles, wall art etc.
If you are thinking of giving your home an autumn update than I would recommend having a look at Aldi's special buys range and see what you can find.

Will you be adding autumnal touches to your home?

Mothers Day with Aldi

It's that time of year again! Mothers day is almost here.
This year I am going to give my mum one of these bottles of wine and
some flowers.
Aldi always do a great selection of products for mothers day and I plan
on popping into my local store to see what flowers they have more closer to the time.

I'm a huge fan of Rose wine so I will be keeping a bottle for myself to have over the mothering Sunday weekend.
Aldi have a wide range of White, Red and Rose wines so you have a good selection to choose from to suit you
or whoever you are buying for.

The Torro Loco rose retails at £3.79 and is a fruity Spanish rose with an elegant aroma of
raspberry and cherry together with a hint of citrus.
It's deliciously fresh and best served chilled.

The Grapevine Rose retails at £3.25 and has a delicate floral aroma, with  ripe summer fruit flavours
of strawberries, raspberries and pear.
It's a lovely Spanish wine to have on it's own.

These wines are part of Aldi's permanent range.

Aldi Plus Size Range

One of my favourite supermarkets Aldi are launching their own plus size range of clothing.
As part of their special buys Aldi have now launched their first ever plus size fashion range.
Sizes starting at 16 up 30 you will be able to pick up classic underwear and comfy pjs whilst doing your shop.

As with all special buy items these items are subject to availability with items going on sale
from today (8th May). Prices start at as little as £2.49 so you will have to be quick.

No need to threat though if you miss out this time as more items will be in store sometime during October.

I was sent one of the padded bras, £5.99 in black unfortunately they didn't have my size in stock so I will be
giving this away to the local charity shop. You can choose from black or white and are available in Sizes: 36D, 38D, 38E, 40E or 42E.

The bra looks lovely and stylish though and I'm sure it will be very comfy too.

Last of all I was sent this brown ladies top which is available in sizes 16-24, £6.99.
Again this will be going to the charity shop but this is because at current I fit in a size 12/14.
There are 3 colours to choose from brown, blue and red.

What do you think of Aldi doing a plus size range?

Aldi Mothers Day Special Buys

With it being 11 days away til Mothers Day I am sharing with you a range of gifts that
Aldi have in their Mothers Day special buys which came out on Sunday 21st February.

I feel that this year Mothers Day has come around a lot quicker than usual.

Anyway Aldi have got a fab range of items that are suitable for Mothers/grandmothers
with a range of interests.

If your Mum has green fingers and loves spending time in the garden, sorting out the
flower beds than you can pick her up a new garden set.
This garden set comes with a hand trowel and fork and is a gorgeous vibrant red.

up these leather gloves that have fleece lining inside to keep hands toasty warm.

red and cream like the one below or in black and cream.
£5.99

Slippers are a gift that most women love.
These cute ballerina slippers are so comfy and

to go in her hospital bag as they are easy to slip on and off.
£2.99 each

This watercolor weekly organiser is fab!
I love stationary bits and they make great gifts.

Another stationary item I got and love this little gift set which
comes with 3 different sized notebooks and a pen.
